Which team won the 2020 European Rugby Champions Cup final?
Answer
Exeter Chiefs
Answer
Exeter Chiefs
Exeter Chiefs won the 2020 European Rugby Champions Cup final.
Exeter defeated Racing 92 31–27 in the final at Ashton Gate in Bristol on 17 October 2020. The match was played without the usual full crowd because the competition took place during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The victory gave Exeter its first European club title. It also completed a remarkable domestic-and-European double: Exeter had won the English Premiership title earlier in 2020, defeating Wasps in the final.
Racing 92 led at times, but Exeter’s forwards and disciplined second-half performance secured the result. This final is sometimes confused with the 2019 decider, when Saracens defeated Leinster. The 2020 Champions Cup was the 25th edition of Europe’s leading professional club competition.
