OG won The International 2019, becoming the first two-time Dota 2 world champion.
The tournament was held in Shanghai, China, from 20 to 25 August 2019. OG defeated Team Liquid 3–1 in the grand final, repeating its 2018 victory. This made OG the first team to win The International twice, and it also became the first team to win the event in consecutive years.
OG’s 2019 roster included Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen, Anathan “ana” Pham, Sébastien “Ceb” Debs, and Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka. The lineup was notable for keeping the same five players from the previous championship.
The International is commonly shortened to TI. It is organized by Valve for Dota 2, and its prize pool is partly funded through in-game sales. OG’s 2018 and 2019 titles remain among the most recognizable achievements in esports history.
