Virtus.pro won the 2014 ESL One Katowice Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major.
Virtus.pro won the Major championship at Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland, in March 2014. The Polish team defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas 2–0 in the grand final. The winning lineup included Filip “NEO” Kubski, Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas, Jarosław “pashaBiceps” Jarząbkowski, Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski, and Paweł “byali” Bieliński.
The event was one of the early CS:GO Majors supported by Valve. It is often remembered for the passionate home crowd and for establishing Katowice as one of Counter-Strike’s most important tournament locations.
The result is distinct from the previous Major, DreamHack Winter 2013, won by Fnatic, and from ESL One Cologne 2014, also won by Ninjas in Pyjamas. Virtus.pro’s victory remains the organization’s landmark Katowice Major title.
