Brighton & Hove Albion scored four goals in the opening 31 minutes against Aston Villa during the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.
Brighton produced the fastest and most explosive start of Matchweek 1 at the Amex Stadium on Sunday 23 August 2026. They reached four goals before the game had passed the 31-minute mark and eventually won 4–0.
Jack Hinshelwood scored twice in just 79 seconds. Maxim De Cuyper added another goal, and Aston Villa defender Victor Lindelöf put through his own net. Villa’s afternoon worsened when João Gomes was sent off before half-time.
Brighton’s first-half total placed them among a small group of teams to score four times before the interval in the opening Matchweek. Previous examples were Bolton Wanderers in 2001, Manchester United in 2007 and Liverpool in 2020.
