Which team scored four goals in Brighton & Hove Albion versus Aston Villa on the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend?

Brighton & Hove Albion scored four goals against Aston Villa on the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.

Brighton won the Sunday, 23 August fixture 4–0 at home. The result was the biggest home win of the Premier League season as recorded on the season article, and it gave Brighton an immediate goal difference of plus four.

The match was scheduled for 14:00 BST, alongside Manchester City versus Bournemouth. Brighton’s involvement in UEFA Conference League qualifying affected the scheduling of the fixture, because the club had played in the preceding Thursday’s European play-off.

The scoreline is easy to mix up with Arsenal’s 3–0 victory over Coventry City and Brentford’s 3–0 win against Tottenham Hotspur. Brighton’s four-goal margin was the largest home winning margin of the opening round.
