Which team did the Minnesota Vikings defeat 13–10 in Week 1 of the 2026 NFL preseason?
Answer
New York Giants
The Minnesota Vikings defeated the New York Giants 13–10 in Week 1 of the 2026 NFL preseason.
Minnesota visited New York on August 15, 2026, in one of the first weekend’s preseason contests. The Vikings’ narrow three-point win came in a game that gave both teams an early opportunity to assess quarterbacks, rookies, and reserve players.
The matchup can be confused with the Giants’ later preseason meeting with the Miami Dolphins, which New York won 26–3 in Week 2. It was also different from the Giants’ Week 3 game against the New York Jets. The Vikings’ Week 1 opponent was the Giants, and the final margin was three points.
