What preseason record did the New England Patriots finish with in 2026?

The story behind the answer

The New England Patriots finished the 2026 NFL preseason with a 1–1–1 record.

New England opened with a 13–13 tie against the Indianapolis Colts on August 13. The Patriots then defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 24–21 in Week 2 before losing 37–13 to the Cleveland Browns in Week 3.

The record contains one win, one loss and one tie. The tie explains why New England’s record cannot be represented by only two numbers. In NFL notation, wins come first, losses second and ties third, so 1–1–1 is the complete line.

Preseason records are not used in regular-season standings. The Patriots began the regular season with a separate 0–0 record, regardless of the exhibition results. Their final preseason mark also differed from Indianapolis’ 0–2–1 record because New England won its Week 2 game against Philadelphia.
