Taylor Swift performed “cardigan” immediately before “august” in her 2021 Grammys medley.
At the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards on March 14, 2021, Swift performed “cardigan,” “august,” and “willow” as a connected medley. The first two songs came from Folklore, while “willow” came from Evermore.
The performance was staged around a woodland cottage, matching Folklore’s rustic and cinematic visual style. Swift began with “cardigan” on top of the cottage, moved inside for “august,” and then performed “willow” outside.
Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner accompanied Swift. The performance marked the first time the three artists performed together, linking the studio collaborators with the album’s most prominent narrative and musical themes.
