Which syndicated newsmagazine was nominated for Outstanding Entertainment News Series in 2026?
Answer
Entertainment Tonight
The syndicated newsmagazine nominated for Outstanding Entertainment News Series in 2026 was Entertainment Tonight.
Entertainment Tonight, commonly shortened to ET, is a syndicated entertainment-news program focused on celebrity interviews, film and television coverage, music, awards, and red-carpet reporting. It premiered in 1981 and became one of the longest-running programs in its field.
The 2026 nomination is for the series itself, not a particular host or special. That distinction matters because the Daytime Emmys also recognize individual presenters and special entertainment-news productions. Programs such as Access Hollywood and Extra compete in the same general news-magazine space, while E! News and TMZ on TV are similar competitors rather than the stored answer.
Entertainment Tonight has also received many earlier Daytime Emmy nominations and wins, helping make it a particularly recognizable name in this category.
