Which supernatural life state is introduced in The Sims 4: Realm of Magic?

Spellcaster is the supernatural life state introduced in The Sims 4: Realm of Magic. The game pack was released on 10 September 2019 and added a magical occult type that can learn spells, brew potions, and develop through ranks.

Spellcasters live in the new world of Glimmerbrook, which contains a portal to the separate Magic Realm. In that floating neighborhood, Sims can study magic under sages, practice spells, gather ingredients, and participate in a progression system that unlocks additional abilities.

The term can cause confusion because earlier Sims games used different language. The Sims 2: Apartment Life and The Sims 3: Supernatural commonly referred to comparable magical Sims as witches. Realm of Magic uses “spellcaster” as the official life-state name, while “wizard,” “witch,” and “sorcerer” are descriptive or thematic terms rather than the canonical answer.

Spellcasters can also bind familiars, including creatures such as dragons and phoenixes. Unlike vampires and some other Sims 4 occult types, spellcasters do not have a separate secondary physical form.
