Which submarine did the Beatles feature in their 1968 animated film?

Yellow Submarine is the submarine featured in the Beatles’ 1968 animated film of the same name.

The British animated musical was directed by George Dunning and released in the United Kingdom on 17 July 1968. Its story follows the Beatles as they travel in a brightly coloured submarine to Pepperland, a fictional world threatened by the music-hating Blue Meanies.

The film used a distinctive blend of psychedelic imagery, graphic design and Beatles songs. Its soundtrack includes “Yellow Submarine,” “All You Need Is Love,” “Only a Northern Song” and “Hey Bulldog.” The Beatles provided their speaking voices only in a brief live-action epilogue; professional actors supplied most of the dialogue.

The title submarine is fictional rather than a military vessel. Its cultural impact helped make the phrase “yellow submarine” widely recognizable beyond the film and song.
