Which stadium hosted the 2023 UEFA Champions League final?
Answer
Atatürk Olympic Stadium
Answer
Atatürk Olympic Stadium
The 2023 UEFA Champions League final was hosted by Istanbul’s Atatürk Olympic Stadium. On 10 June 2023, Manchester City defeated Inter Milan 1–0 at the Turkish national stadium to win the European Cup for the first time.
The venue had originally been expected to host the 2020 final, but the COVID-19 pandemic moved that match to Lisbon. Istanbul was then scheduled to stage the 2021 final, yet travel and public-health restrictions caused that game to move to Porto as well. The stadium finally hosted the showpiece in 2023.
Atatürk Olympic Stadium is strongly associated with the 2005 final, when Liverpool came back from 3–0 down to draw 3–3 with AC Milan before winning on penalties. Its second final therefore carried a notable historical connection.
The stadium is in Istanbul, Türkiye, and is named after Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic. The 2023 final is sometimes confused with Wembley, which hosted the 2024 final.
