Which stadium hosted Brighton & Hove Albion’s 4–0 win over Aston Villa in the 2026–27 Premier League opener?

Brighton & Hove Albion’s 4–0 win over Aston Villa was played at the American Express Stadium.

The stadium is Brighton’s home ground and is located in Falmer, near Brighton and Hove. It hosted the Sunday afternoon match on 23 August 2026, when Brighton produced the biggest home victory of the opening weekend.

The ground is also widely known as Falmer Stadium. Its commercial name, the American Express Stadium, comes from Brighton’s shirt-sponsorship partnership with American Express. Both names can therefore appear in football coverage, but the canonical stadium name used for the season is American Express Stadium.

A frequent error is to name Villa Park, which is Aston Villa’s home venue. Aston Villa were the visitors in this fixture, so the match took place at Brighton’s stadium.
