Which stadium has hosted the most European Cup/UEFA Champions League finals?
Answer
Wembley Stadium
Answer
Wembley Stadium
Wembley Stadium has hosted more European Cup and UEFA Champions League finals than any other stadium. Including the 2024 final, the Wembley site has staged eight finals, six of them in the Champions League era or under its immediate predecessor’s modern format.
The original Wembley hosted finals in 1963, 1968, 1971, 1978 and 1992. The rebuilt stadium then hosted the 2011, 2013 and 2024 finals. Winners at Wembley have included AC Milan, Manchester United, Ajax, Liverpool, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
A common source of confusion is the distinction between the old stadium and the rebuilt venue. They are separate buildings, but UEFA’s historical venue records treat them as Wembley because they occupy the same famous site. Wembley’s total therefore exceeds venues such as the Santiago Bernabéu, San Siro and Camp Nou.
