Which spacecraft carried the Inspiration4 crew into orbit?
Answer
Crew Dragon Resilience
Answer
Crew Dragon Resilience
Crew Dragon Resilience carried the Inspiration4 crew into orbit.
Inspiration4 launched on September 15, 2021, aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The privately funded mission carried four civilian astronauts: Jared Isaacman, Sian Proctor, Hayley Arceneaux, and Chris Sembroski. It orbited Earth for roughly three days before splashing down in the Atlantic Ocean.
Resilience had previously flown NASA’s Crew-1 mission, but SpaceX refurbished it for Inspiration4. For the private flight, the spacecraft received a large cupola window in place of the standard docking mechanism, giving the crew a panoramic view of Earth. The spacecraft name is easy to confuse with Endeavour, Endurance, and Freedom, which are other Dragon vehicles used on separate missions.
