BTS released the South Korean album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1 in 2015.
The EP, also known as 화양연화 pt.1, marked an important stage in BTS’s development. Its lead single, “I Need U,” gave the group its first number-one single on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart and its first music-show wins.
The release began the group’s “Most Beautiful Moment in Life” series. It was followed by The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2 later in 2015 and the compilation Young Forever in 2016.
The full title is often shortened in databases and fan discussions, so it can be confused with Part 2 or Young Forever. Part 1 is the first installment and was released in April 2015.
