Jack Antonoff collaborated with Taylor Swift on both the songwriting and production of “august.”
Antonoff was one of Swift’s key collaborators during the creation of Folklore. He co-wrote and co-produced several songs on the album, helping shape its intimate, atmospheric sound with layered instruments and restrained electronic textures.
Swift wrote “august” with Antonoff and served as a songwriter and producer herself. The track’s production supports its hazy summer mood through reverberant vocals, swelling instrumentation, and a gradual emotional build.
Aaron Dessner is another important Folklore collaborator, which can cause confusion. Dessner co-wrote and produced many songs on the album, but he is not the named co-writer of “august.” Max Martin and Ed Sheeran have also worked with Swift on other projects, but neither is credited as a collaborator on this song.
