“willow” joined Taylor Swift’s “august” and “cardigan” in her 2021 Grammys medley.
Swift performed the three-song medley at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards on March 14, 2021. “cardigan” opened the performance, “august” followed, and “willow” closed it.
The pairing connected Folklore with Evermore. “cardigan” and “august” are both Folklore songs, while “willow” came from Evermore, the sister album Swift released later in 2020.
The medley is sometimes remembered as a performance of only the Folklore songs because the staging emphasized the Folklore cottage setting. However, “willow” was the final song, and Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner accompanied Swift.
