Which song follows Taylor Swift’s “august” in the standard Folklore track listing?

“this is me trying” follows Taylor Swift’s “august” in Folklore’s standard track listing.

“august” is track 8, so “this is me trying” occupies track 9. The placement connects two songs with very different emotional settings: “august” centers on a fleeting summer romance, while “this is me trying” presents a more direct reflection on struggle, regret, and effort.

The song order is part of Folklore’s standard 16-track edition. Later deluxe and physical editions can encourage confusion because bonus material and alternate versions appear in different contexts, but the original album sequence places “this is me trying” directly after “august.”

“mirrorball” is the neighboring track people most often substitute, but it appears earlier at track 6. “illicit affairs” comes later at track 10.
