“Willow” concluded Taylor Swift’s 2021 Grammy medley featuring “august.”
Swift performed the medley at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards on March 14, 2021. She began with “Cardigan,” performed “August” inside the cottage set, and then moved outside for “Willow.”
The three songs came from two related album worlds. “Cardigan” and “August” are from Folklore, while “Willow” is the opening track of Evermore, Swift’s ninth studio album released later in 2020.
The performance also featured Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner. Because “Betty” is the third song in the Folklore love-triangle narrative, listeners sometimes expect it to appear in the medley, but the closing song was “Willow.”
