“Willow” completed Taylor Swift’s 2021 Grammy medley that included “august.”
At the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards on March 14, 2021, Swift performed a three-song sequence with Folklore producers Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner. The medley began with “Cardigan,” moved to “august,” and concluded with “Willow.”
“Willow” comes from Evermore, Swift’s ninth studio album, which followed Folklore later in 2020. Its inclusion connected the two sister albums during a performance built around the woodsy, cottage-like visual world associated with both records.
The order matters: “Cardigan” was first, “august” was second, and “Willow” was last. Fans sometimes remember the performance as a Folklore-only medley, but “Willow” is an Evermore song and served as its closing number.
