Jay-Z performed with Beyoncé in the duo The Carters.
The Carters is the professional name used by Beyoncé and Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter for their joint album and related performances. Their collaborative album, Everything Is Love, was released in 2018 and credited to The Carters. It followed years of musical collaboration between the two artists, including appearances on each other’s songs and tours.
Everything Is Love includes the single “Apeshit,” whose music video was filmed in the Louvre in Paris. The project was notable because it presented the married couple as a formal recording partnership rather than simply as featured artists on one another’s solo albums.
The name The Carters comes from Jay-Z’s family name, Carter. It should not be confused with Beyoncé’s solo credit, Jay-Z’s solo stage name, or the surname used for their children. The joint project is specifically associated with Beyoncé and Jay-Z together.
