The Endurance carries Lara Croft and her expedition in Tomb Raider (2013).
The Endurance is the research vessel used by Lara and her companions at the beginning of the reboot. The expedition is searching for the lost kingdom of Yamatai when the ship is caught in a storm and wrecked near the Dragon’s Triangle.
The vessel is commanded by Conrad Roth, Lara’s mentor and a veteran sailor. Other members of the expedition include Sam Nishimura, Jonah Maiava, Alex Weiss, and Reyes. The wreck separates the group and begins Lara’s survival journey.
The ship’s name can be confused with famous real-world vessels such as Ernest Shackleton’s Endurance or the exploration ship Endeavour. In the game, Endurance is the fictional expedition vessel central to the opening disaster and the survivors’ attempts to escape the island.
