Which Sesame Street fairy has tiny wings and a magic wand?

The story behind the answer

Abby Cadabby is the Sesame Street fairy with tiny wings and a magic wand.

Abby is a pink fairy-in-training who moved to Sesame Street in 2006, debuting in the first episode of Season 37. Her design includes small wings, a wand, and sparkles in her hair. She is the daughter of the Fairy Godmother and later became known as one of the show's central younger characters.

Her magic is usually playful rather than all-powerful: spells and wishes often create comic problems that Abby and her friends must solve. Her wand even breaks during her debut episode, sending her to Maria's Fix-It Shop. Viewers sometimes confuse Abby with other magical characters, but Rosita, Zoe, and Prairie Dawn are not fairies. Abby is also distinct from her stepbrother Rudy, who is a monster rather than a fairy.

Abby was performed by Leslie Carrara-Rudolph and was introduced partly to increase the number of prominent female Muppets on the program. She later starred in animated segments including “Abby's Flying Fairy School.”
