Which school did Georgia O'Keeffe attend in Chicago for formal art training?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for formal art training.

She studied there from 1905 to 1906, receiving instruction in traditional drawing and painting. The school was already an important American art institution, and its curriculum emphasized close observation, technique, and academic study.

O'Keeffe later attended the Art Students League in New York, where she studied under William Merritt Chase. She won a scholarship for her painting Dead Rabbit with Copper Pot, linking her early education to the academic tradition of American art.

The Chicago school should not be confused with the University of Virginia, where O'Keeffe later taught, or with Columbia College, where she studied under Arthur Wesley Dow. Dow's ideas about composition eventually encouraged her move toward abstraction.
