Which Roman demigod was known for his twelve labors and later deified?

The story behind the answer

Which Roman demigod was known for his twelve labors and later deified? Hercules was the Roman demigod famous for the Twelve Labors and later granted divine status.

Hercules was the Roman name for the Greek hero Heracles. Roman tradition described him as the son of Jupiter, the chief Roman god, and the mortal woman Alcmena. His mixed divine and human parentage explains why he is often called a demigod, although ancient traditions vary in how they describe his status.

After a fit of madness caused by Juno, Hercules sought purification and was ordered to serve King Eurystheus. The original assignment involved ten tasks, but two were rejected: the Hydra was discounted because his nephew Iolaus helped, and the Augean stables because Hercules accepted payment. Two additional tasks brought the total to twelve, including retrieving the Golden Apples and capturing Cerberus.

At death, Hercules was burned on a funeral pyre in mythic tradition, while his divine nature was separated from his mortal body. He was then received among the gods. The Romans also worshipped him as a protector and associated him with Rome’s early legendary history.
