Joest Racing holds the record for most overall Le Mans wins by a team, with 15 victories. Its winning years span 1984–1985, 1996–1997, 2000–2002, 2006–2008 and 2010–2014.

The team was founded by former Porsche works driver Reinhold Joest and first won Le Mans in 1984 with a Porsche 956. It added another Porsche victory in 1985, then returned to the top with Porsche prototypes in 1996 and 1997.

Joest’s greatest run came after its close relationship with Audi. The team operated Audi’s factory Le Mans programme and won repeatedly with the Audi R8, R10 TDI and R15 TDI. It also won with the Audi R18 during Audi’s early-2010s dominance.
