Which punk icon released the 1977 album 'Lust for Life'?

The story behind the answer

Iggy Pop released the 1977 album Lust for Life. It was his second solo studio album, arriving on 9 September 1977 through RCA Records after the breakup of his influential band the Stooges.

Pop recorded the album in May and June 1977 at Hansa Studio in West Berlin. David Bowie co-produced it and played keyboards, while the core touring lineup included guitarist Ricky Gardiner and brothers Tony Fox and Hunt Sales. Compared with Pop’s darker first solo album, The Idiot, Lust for Life restored more of the aggressive, energetic character associated with the Stooges.

The album includes the title track and “The Passenger,” two of Pop’s best-known songs. It reached number 28 on the UK Albums Chart and number 120 in the United States. Bowie’s major role can cause confusion, but Lust for Life is an Iggy Pop album, not a David Bowie release. It was their second collaboration in 1977.
