Which punk band was fronted by singer Poly Styrene?

The story behind the answer

X-Ray Spex was the punk band fronted by singer Poly Styrene.

The London group formed in 1976 and became known for Poly Styrene's distinctive voice, sharply satirical lyrics, and the prominent saxophone of Lora Logic and Rudi Thomson. Their best-known song, "Oh Bondage Up Yours!," was released in 1977 and is widely regarded as a key early British punk single.

X-Ray Spex released only one studio album during Poly Styrene's original period with the band: Germfree Adolescents, issued in 1978. Its songs examined consumerism, conformity, and the pressures of modern life. The group is sometimes grouped with other all-female or women-led punk acts such as the Slits and the Raincoats, but those were separate bands with different lineups and styles. X-Ray Spex later reunited for performances, though Poly Styrene's original run ended in 1979.
