Which punk band released the 1982 album 'Walk Among Us'?

The story behind the answer

The Misfits released the 1982 album Walk Among Us. It was the American band’s debut studio album and one of the defining records of horror punk.

Walk Among Us was released in March 1982 through Ruby Records, an imprint associated with Slash Records. Although it was the Misfits’ first full-length album to reach release, it was actually the third full-length they recorded: Static Age had been recorded in 1978 but remained unreleased in full until 1996, while 12 Hits from Hell was recorded in 1980 and never received a standard official release.

The album combines rapid punk arrangements with lyrics and imagery inspired by horror and science-fiction films. Its cover features flying saucers from Earth vs. the Flying Saucers and a creature from The Angry Red Planet. The title itself was inspired by the 1956 film The Creature Walks Among Us.

The Misfits are sometimes confused with Black Flag or the Ramones because all three are major American punk bands. Walk Among Us, however, belongs specifically to the Misfits’ early Glenn Danzig, Doyle, Jerry Only, and Arthur Googy era.
