Manchester United visited Hull City on the opening Saturday of the 2026–27 Premier League season.
The fixture was scheduled for Saturday 22 August 2026 and was the season’s first Saturday lunchtime match. Hull City hosted the game at MKM Stadium, their home ground in Kingston upon Hull.
Hull were one of three clubs promoted from the Championship for 2026–27. Coventry City and Ipswich Town were the other newcomers, and all three appeared in the opening Match Round. Hull’s return followed a nine-year absence from the top flight.
The other promoted-team fixtures were also home games: Coventry hosted Arsenal and Ipswich hosted Sunderland. Manchester United therefore began their league campaign away from home against one of the division’s returning clubs.
