Trunki was rejected by the Dragons on Dragon's Den but later became a major travel brand.
Trunki is a ride-on children's suitcase designed by British product designer Rob Law. Law presented the idea on Dragon's Den in 2006, seeking investment, but the Dragons did not make a deal. The televised rejection did not prevent the product from reaching the market or becoming commercially successful.
The suitcase was designed to make airport and other journeys easier for young children by allowing them to sit on and ride the case. Its distinctive shape and bright colours helped it stand out from conventional luggage. The product later received design recognition and became associated with the British company Magmatic.
Trunki is often cited as a warning against treating a television rejection as a final business verdict. A pitch may fail to secure investment because of valuation, risk or disagreement over the product, while the founder may still develop the company independently. The Dragon's Den outcome and the product's later sales history are separate facts.
