Joe Alwyn was officially recognized as a co-producer of Taylor Swift’s “august” after Folklore won Album of the Year.
The song’s liner notes credit Swift and Jack Antonoff as producers. However, the Recording Academy later recognized Alwyn as a co-producer after Folklore won Album of the Year at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.
Alwyn used the pseudonym William Bowery for songwriting and production contributions on Folklore and Evermore. His involvement is easy to overlook because the principal album credits and later Grammy recognition are not always presented in exactly the same way.
This detail should not be confused with songwriting credit: “august” was written by Swift and Antonoff. Aaron Dessner was also a major Folklore collaborator, but he is not the answer to this specific production-credit question.
