Which producer released the 1977 electronic disco album From Here to Eternity?

The story behind the answer

Giorgio Moroder released the 1977 electronic disco album From Here to Eternity.

The album was a landmark in the development of electronic dance music because it placed synthesizers and sequenced electronic rhythms at the center of a disco production. Moroder wrote, performed and produced the project, helping demonstrate that a largely electronic arrangement could support a full-length dance album rather than only a novelty instrumental.

From Here to Eternity followed Moroder’s earlier work in electronic pop and preceded his best-known collaborations with singer Donna Summer. Its title track became particularly influential among later disco, house and techno artists. The album’s futuristic sound also helped establish Moroder as one of the central European producers of the disco era.

The album is sometimes confused with Moroder’s later soundtrack work, especially his music for films such as Midnight Express and Flashdance. Those projects expanded his reputation, but From Here to Eternity belongs specifically to his 1970s electronic-disco period.
