Joe Alwyn received co-producer credit on Taylor Swift’s “august.”
The song was written by Swift and Jack Antonoff, while production credits include Swift, Antonoff, and Alwyn. The album’s original liner notes credited Swift and Antonoff as producers, but the Recording Academy later recognized Alwyn as a co-producer.
Alwyn worked under the pseudonym William Bowery on some Folklore material. That pseudonym is associated with songwriting and production contributions, which led to later clarification about his role in the album’s creation.
This credit is easy to confuse with Aaron Dessner’s role. Dessner was one of Folklore’s principal producers and co-writers, but “august” specifically lists Alwyn among its production credits.
