Joe Alwyn co-produced Taylor Swift’s song “august” with Swift and Jack Antonoff.
The song’s production credits list all three: Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff, and Joe Alwyn. Antonoff built the initial instrumental, while Swift shaped the lyrics and vocal performance. Alwyn’s credit reflects his behind-the-scenes contribution to Folklore’s recordings.
Alwyn was credited under the name William Bowery on several Swift songwriting and production credits. However, the “august” article lists Joe Alwyn directly among the producers, making his identity the canonical answer to this question.
A frequent mix-up is Aaron Dessner, who was also a key Folklore producer and songwriter. Dessner produced many tracks on the album, but he is not one of the three credited producers of “august.”
