Which Premier League club signed Álvaro Rodríguez from Elche in July 2026?

Bournemouth signed Álvaro Rodríguez from Elche in July 2026. The move brought a tall, left-footed forward with Real Madrid connections into the Premier League.

Rodríguez was born in Palamós, Spain, on 14 July 2004. He developed at Girona before joining Real Madrid’s academy, where he won the 2022 Copa del Rey Juvenil. He made his senior breakthrough with Real Madrid Castilla and also appeared for the first team, scoring against Atlético Madrid in February 2023.

A loan spell at Getafe preceded his permanent move to Elche in July 2025. During the 2025–26 season, he made 34 league appearances and scored seven goals for Elche before Bournemouth recruited him on 14 July 2026. The transfer is sometimes confused with his earlier move from Real Madrid to Elche, but the question asks specifically about the Premier League destination.

Rodríguez has represented both Spain and Uruguay at youth level. He ultimately committed to Uruguay and scored five goals at the 2023 South American Under-20 Championship.
