Squirtle lends Ditto Water Gun to water plants in Pokémon Pokopia.
Pokopia turns familiar Pokémon moves into tools for habitat restoration. After befriending Squirtle, Ditto can use Water Gun to hydrate dried-up plants and support the growth of the player’s developing settlement.
This is different from the battle-centered use of Water Gun in the main Pokémon games. In Pokopia, the move is part of a practical building system: Pokémon abilities help Ditto collect resources, alter terrain, cultivate vegetation, and make the environment more comfortable for other creatures.
Bulbasaur provides a useful contrast. Its Leafage helps create patches of grass, while Squirtle’s Water Gun supplies moisture. The two examples show how the game links particular Pokémon identities to specific world-building tasks.
