Which Pokémon acts as Professor Tangrowth in Pokémon Pokopia?

Tangrowth acts as Professor Tangrowth in Pokémon Pokopia.

Professor Tangrowth is a Tangrowth who studies the abandoned environment and tries to understand why humans and Pokémon disappeared. This character becomes one of Ditto’s earliest important companions in the story.

Pokopia begins in a world that humans have left behind and that has become difficult for Pokémon to inhabit. After Ditto discovers an old Pokédex and takes on a human-like appearance, it meets Professor Tangrowth and joins the effort to restore habitats.

The name is a direct character joke: Tangrowth’s species name is incorporated into the title “Professor Tangrowth.” It is not a separate professor species or a human researcher. Tangrowth’s role also helps frame the game’s central purpose, which is environmental restoration and community rebuilding rather than a conventional journey through gyms and leagues.
