Which player won the first StarCraft II GSL championship in 2010?
Answer
FruitDealer
Answer
FruitDealer
FruitDealer won the first StarCraft II GSL championship in 2010.
The player, whose real name is Cho Sung Choon, won the inaugural Global StarCraft II League tournament in Seoul in September 2010. He defeated Ji-Hoon “NEXGenius” Kim in the final, establishing himself as the first GSL champion.
FruitDealer played the Zerg faction, while StarCraft II’s other playable factions were Terran and Protoss. His aggressive Zergling and Baneling attacks became closely associated with his successful early tournament style.
The GSL became one of StarCraft II’s most important recurring professional leagues. Later champions included Mvp and Nestea, so those names are sometimes incorrectly given as the first GSL winner. FruitDealer’s title came in the game’s first major Korean league season.
