Bugha won the first Fortnite World Cup Solo final.
The inaugural Fortnite World Cup finals were held in New York City in July 2019. Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf won the Solo competition after six matches, earning 59 points through a combination of eliminations and high placement finishes.
Bugha’s lead was decisive: Psalm finished second with 33 points, while EpikWhale placed third with 32. The victory earned Bugha a $3 million first prize, one of the largest individual payouts in esports at that time. He was 16 years old when he won.
The wording matters because the World Cup included separate Solo and Duos competitions. Aqua and Nyhrox won the Duos final, while Bugha won the individual Solo title. “Bugha” is his established competitive name and the canonical answer.
