Which player scored four tries for Australia in the 1995 Rugby League World Cup final?

The story behind the answer

Terry Hill scored four tries for Australia in the 1995 Rugby League World Cup final.

Australia defeated England 16–8 in the final at Wembley Stadium in London on 28 October 1995. All of Australia’s points came from tries by winger Terry Hill, who crossed four times in a memorable individual performance.

The match was played in front of a major Wembley crowd and gave Australia its seventh men’s World Cup title. England, then competing separately from Great Britain, mounted a strong challenge but could not match Hill’s finishing.

Hill’s four-try total is especially notable because the final was low-scoring by modern standards and because no Australian player scored a try for the other side of the scoreboard. The result is sometimes confused with the 1995 tournament’s group matches, which used different line-ups and scores.
