Michael Kayode scored Brentford’s third goal in their 3–0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Brentford beat Tottenham on Saturday 22 August 2026, beginning the new league campaign with a commanding home victory. Keane Lewis-Potter opened the scoring in the 12th minute after an assist from debutant Mamadou Sangare, and Vitaly Janelt doubled the advantage before half-time.
Kayode completed the scoring after the interval. His goal made the result a 3–0 victory and helped Brentford finish the first Saturday among the early leaders on goal difference. The result was also a disappointing start for Tottenham under manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Igor Thiago missed a penalty for Brentford, so the score could have been even larger. That miss does not change the identity of the third scorer: Kayode was the player who added Brentford’s final goal.
