Which player holds the record for the fastest century in IPL?
Answer
Chris Gayle
Answer
Chris Gayle
Chris Gayle holds the record for the fastest century in IPL history, reaching 100 from 30 balls. He achieved the feat for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors India on 23 April 2013 at Bengaluru.
Gayle finished that extraordinary innings unbeaten on 175 from 66 deliveries. His century contained 11 sixes, and his final score remained the highest individual total in IPL history. RCB made 263 for 5, also setting a record team total at the time, and won the match by 130 runs.
The 30-ball hundred was not simply an IPL milestone: it became the fastest century in any recognised Twenty20 match at the time. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are often suggested because of their IPL scoring records, while Yashasvi Jaiswal is associated with the fastest century by an Indian batter. Neither surpassed Gayle’s IPL mark in the category asked here.
