Which player holds the record for most points scored in an NRL career?

Cameron Smith holds the record for most points scored in an NRL career, with 2,786 points.

Smith played his entire NRL career with the Melbourne Storm from 2002 to 2020. Primarily a hooker, he scored heavily through goal-kicking rather than tries and became one of the competition’s most prolific place-kickers.

His career total includes 42 tries and 1,257 successful goals. He also captained Melbourne for many seasons and represented Queensland and Australia.

The record is sometimes mistaken for the record for most NRL appearances or most points in a single match. Smith also holds the NRL appearance record, while individual-match scoring records belong to other players.
