Which player has won the most Dally M Medals in NRL history?

Johnathan Thurston has won the most Dally M Medals in NRL history, with four awards.

Thurston received the honour in 2005, 2007, 2014 and 2015. The Dally M Medal is presented to the NRL’s best and fairest player, with votes awarded by judges after regular-season matches.

His four-medal record reflects an unusually long period of elite performance as a halfback and five-eighth. Thurston played most of his career for the North Queensland Cowboys and also represented Queensland and Australia.

Andrew Johns was the first player to win the medal three times, while several other stars have won it twice. The award is separate from the Clive Churchill Medal, which recognises the best player in the NRL Grand Final.
