Faker became the first four-time League of Legends World Championship winner by lifting the 2024 trophy.
Born Lee Sang-hyeok, Faker has played professionally for T1, formerly known as SK Telecom T1, since 2013. His earlier World Championship victories came in 2013, 2015, and 2016, making him the first player to win three titles before adding a fourth in 2024.
The achievement is notable because the World Championship is League of Legends’ premier annual event, and many elite players never win it even once. Faker’s record is sometimes confused with team records: T1 also became the first organization to win four World titles, but Faker is the individual player associated with the milestone.
