Cars introduced the character Sally Carrera.
Sally is a Porsche 911 Carrera who lives in Radiator Springs and works as the town's attorney. In the first film, she helps Lightning McQueen understand the history and value of the community after he is ordered to repair the road he damaged.
Bonnie Hunt voices Sally, who becomes Lightning's romantic interest and one of his most important supporters. Her knowledge of Radiator Springs contrasts with Lightning's initial belief that the town is merely an obstacle between him and the Piston Cup.
Sally returns in Cars 2 and Cars 3, but her introduction occurs in the 2006 original. The name Carrera is also a real Porsche designation, which is why the character's model and surname are closely linked to Porsche's sports-car history.
