Which Pixar director directed the 2006 film Cars?
Answer
John Lasseter
Answer
John Lasseter
John Lasseter directed Pixar’s 2006 film Cars.
Lasseter co-directed Toy Story and A Bug’s Life before directing Cars, making the film another major entry in his early Pixar career. He also helped create the story and served as an important creative leader at the studio during the film’s production.
Cars was inspired partly by Lasseter’s interest in cars and by a family road trip along Route 66. The movie combines a sports story with a portrait of small towns affected by the construction of interstate highways.
Joe Ranft and Jorgen Klubien are credited as co-writers of the story, while the voice cast includes Owen Wilson, Paul Newman, Bonnie Hunt, and Larry the Cable Guy. Brad Bird, Pete Docter, and Andrew Stanton directed other major Pixar films, but not Cars.
