Which Pixar Cars short series follows Mater as he tells exaggerated stories about his past?

The Pixar Cars short series that follows Mater’s exaggerated stories is Mater’s Tall Tales.

The series centers on Mater recounting supposedly heroic adventures from his past. Each short places him in an unusual setting, such as a rescue mission, a stunt show, or a spy adventure. Lightning McQueen often appears as Mater’s listener or companion.

The title refers to “tall tales,” a storytelling tradition involving humorous exaggeration and unbelievable feats. The shorts use that idea to expand Mater’s personality beyond his role in the feature films. Their events are framed through Mater’s storytelling, which explains why the stories can be so extravagant.

Mater’s Tall Tales is part of the broader Cars Toons brand. It is separate from Tales from Radiator Springs, another Cars short series. The shorts were released in television and home-video formats and helped establish Mater as a lead character outside the main feature-film plots.
